2. Root Canal Treatment : Today an infected tooth can be saved with a procedure called Root Canal Treatment. The removal of diseased nerve tissue, cleaning of the inner most part of the tooth and then filling the nerve chamber with inert filling material saves the tooth. Though extraction is cheaper but it has to be complemented by paying for putting artificial tooth. No pain is associated with this procedure as this is done with anesthesia.

3. Composite Filling / Laminates : In the era of cosmetic dentistry, tooth colored filling materials are best, because they are natural in color, high strength and they require less cutting of tooth structure. 4. Space, Crooked, Short Height Teeth : Space in between the teeth occur naturally or due to poor gum support caused by inadequate maintenance of oral hygiene. The spaces affect speech and appearance. Cosmetic filling/ceramic veneers or contouring of teeth helps to close spaces or to correct uneven teeth. Sometimes, braces also help to close spaces or to straighten the teeth.

5. Gum Disease / Pyorrhea / Bone Grafting : Gum related disease leads to pyorrhea, in which an infection gradually destroys the tissue surrounding teeth and jawbone. Due to neglect in brushing, the tarter/ plaque releases acid, which in turn affects gum tissue and bleeding starts. If this stage is left untreated, infection and pus start to come out and destruction of bone starts, making the tooth mobile. This can be cured by professional periodontal scaling, which is non-surgical, safe and must be done once in a year. Advanced cases get treated by surgical method as gum surgeries, bone grafting. Mobile tooth can be saved with regeneration of bone.

Black Gums/ Excessive Exposure of Gums : This is not a disease but due to excessive melanin pigments, gums become black A simple esthetic procedure called depigmentation in which the upper most layer of gum is taken out and a healthy pink gum underneath is visible. Excessive exposure of gum during smiling or speech can also be corrected with cosmetic gum surgery.
